‘ Let your E…GO,’ a clever play on words that got me thinking about the Ego and its importance or rather danger zones. Whilst recently excited to be getting my mitts on a new ski shell combo, my Ego so clearly flattered to be trying on an XS, that I let it proceed my rationale and We ended up purchasing an outer layer that I simply can’t fit anything else underneath! Upon telling my friend this tale whilst out skinning in my new XS outfit we laughed out loud that one can always appear ‘extra small’ when simply standing still! And thus slightly larger when maneuvering your way up a mountain! So I can truly vouch for the fact that my Ego most definitely superseded me in that moment and has left me rather cold and immobile. So I suppose the question I am now looking to answer is: Can our Ego ever be of any use to us…?

A debate that one could argue would depend on the intention behind the change. Q. Was it a change made out of love or out of fear ? Having faced some legal concerns over our name, Loveyogabum and being rather attached to the name, I was initially upset and panicky about the thought of losing it. What with it holding so many fond memories and representing the last 4 years of my life i’m sure you can understand my initial resistance. Having been working on a new website at this time I paused and wondered about this timing. Perhaps not a coincidence but rather a sign to change. So rather a tad reluctant I started brain storming and suddenly there it was: Unearth Yoga. A name I felt so strongly about and one that I felt better represented the business and the future. However this is not to say that the change wasn’t born in fear but rather transformed into love. This name change unhinged my mental windows to a wider and more beautiful vision for the business making me think perhaps change is for the best…

// Having just picked up our long awaited puppy it seems unconditional love comes in a bundle of black hairy fluff. Even when put in her night cage for the first time she still loves you as much as ever come the morning. This got me thinking about the conditions we humans attach to love and does it really serve us? I would like to think I give unconditional love but on closer investigation there seems to mostly be conditions even when disguised as a code of conduct or a seemingly reasonable request. However when it comes to animals it appears that even when they chew your favourite shoes we can’t help but love them despite this and maybe it’s because we respond with a similar love to that given?

We all hold the controller when it comes to our dream life. So let’s start by acknowledging this fact and taking some action that’s gunna make 2016 the best year yet. Here’s the method I use to start the manifestation process: start with a large white piece of paper. On one side write down all the things you are grateful for right now and on the other side write down all the things you desire for the year ahead. Then comes the fun part-Visualising. Start to imagine you have what you want right now and enjoy those feelings. Spend time with this feeling by playing out your day, week and year. Now all you have to do is move into this feeling everyday. I like to pin this list above my bed and twice daily visualise and feel my desires as reality and they will become your reality…

For me the prospect of purchasing presents and getting it ‘right’ can be an overwhelming feeling often resulting in a last minute rush through overcrowded shops leaving me stressed and detached from the true meaning of giving. Isn’t it sad that the pure act of giving is being tarnished by a mildly coerced exchanging of gifts. Please note I am not anti gifts or giving, I simply feel that the materialist nature of Christmas combined with expectation engulfs me and I find myself quietly wondering if my presence alone would be enough? However as I begin to wrap my chosen gifts, I start to feel the joyous process of giving and I know then that the pleasure is really all mine!…
