Siobhan Power is a yoga Instructor for children, teens and adults with ten years’ experience in childcare and coaching. Siobhan founded Calmer Kids Yoga to bring yoga into schools, as she strongly believes that teaching our children mindfulness and yoga gives them essential tools to face the obstacles of everyday life.
Siobhan received training in Astanga, from the Raja Dhiraja lineage, through Ganga Devi of the Himalayan Yoga Institute. She then returned to her native South Africa and was fortunate enough to be a part of Yoga Stars International, a social enterprise which sends teachers into schools and communities. She held classes for 250 children a week aged 8 months to 12 years. Siobhan then went on to complete her teacher training for children and children with special needs through Yoga4Kids and then more recently completed a Yoga Teacher training for Teens with Charlotta Martinus of Teen Yoga.
Currently, Siobhan teaches up to 200 children a week in inner city schools across London. Yoga has taught her that with self-love, compassion and the ability to not take life too seriously, she is capable of anything. And this is what she hopes to pass on to her students. She feels fortunate to have been able to combine her passion of teaching yoga and her love and commitment for educating children and to be reaping the amazing daily rewards she gets from such a fulfilling role
