Yoga happens in the wooden shala nestled amongst the vegetable garden overlooking with overlooking the sea. Fully equipped with bolsters, blankets, ropes and blocks-allowing you to travel light. Sleeping in newly built wooden huts nestled amongst the fruits and flowers. The large dining table again overlooks the sea with the most stunning sun sets and views off land islands to share and enjoy meals together. The food is picked from the garden by Mr Suleyman and all prepared by Mrs Suleyman and their family. Delicious grilled aubergine, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, sea bass cooked on an open barbecue catch by the local fisherman delivered to the door. Or turkish delights of baklava and spinach and feta filo pastry rolls to feast the soul on.
If you wish to go explore then there is plenty to do and see. With local markets towns nearby and opportunity to take a boat trip along the coastline and see the ruins of past cities. With stop off at Paradis beach that can only be reached by boat and a light lunch served on boat after many jumps overboard to swim in the aqua seas. Or just stay put by the private pool and help yourself to an ice cream fridge ( requested by previous guests!) . Explore the gardens with all the fruits which we are encouraged to eat eat eat!! or just lay horizontal with a book in the hammock whilst staring at the figs or pomegranate hanging from the trees. A evening trip to Fethiye is another highlight with the breeze in your face as you meander along the rugged coastline under the moon in an open top jeep. Dinner in the hustle and bustle amongst rugs and trinkets displayed in the surrounding market.
Have a blissful massage with the onsite masseuse or a turkish facial with this wonderful turkish lady who comes and makes a fire to boil herbs to make into a mask which really seems works- quite a fun experience and totally different from your UK salon! If you are photographer then you will be in heaven- even those who fain to take their camera spent hours wondering Suleyman’s Garden getting creative.
They grow and dry their own chills which is quite wonderful to see and the rose jam and tahini was a particular favourite at breakfast with the homemade flat bread. There is a chance to learn how to make this bread once should you wish to watch and partake.
Note from Gaby:
‘During this warm yoga week you will unwind and soften your body tissues, deeply yielding to your true self, finding enormous release of tension, improved energy levels, peace and emotional content.
Practicing yoga twice a day: yin yoga and breathing practices followed by a more vigorous and detoxing yang vinyasa flow in the mornings before breakfast and a more relaxing and restorative practice in the evening.
We sleep in beautiful wooden cabins with stunning views of the mediterranean sea, surrounded by banana and pine singing trees under a magnificent canopy of the shiniest of stars.’
